Ohai, I’m Nadežda (she/her) but everybody — safe for my mum, the state, and some work clients — calls me Nadja.
There’s a reasonable chance a good many of you already know me from other places on this there internet, especially on the fediverse.
For those of you that do not, I’m queer by happenstance, leftist by necessity, and very political thanks to being the literal intersection of minorities that are in everybody’s crosshair.

I live in Germany currently, but as my name has probably already tipped you off, my family is not from there. In fact, culturally speaking, I’m very much a mutt — or as I call it: „a daughter of many cultures, for better and worse“. That, combined with my family being incredibly secular for … several reasons, makes me much less educated about the Ashkenazim part of my heritage than I would often like to be.

As said mutt, my family speaks a plethora of languages, and while I can’t say I speak all the languages of even my immediate family I do often surprise by how much I do bring together in some eight different languages.

Professionally I’ve done plenty a things in my time; although currently and the most prevalent is my work as Applied Cryptographer; although I very much try to spend less time working with, or worse on, computers. Awfully bothersome, those things.

When I’m not accidentally learning yet another language or toiling away in that capitalistic system of ours, I do very much enjoy myself some science fiction or high fantasy; I do like to play and GM TTRPGs ranging from D&D over Shadowrun to Paranoia, and will happily admit that I’m not just a Trekkie, but also a Whovian and LoTR fan.

there’s two types of computer people, those who love computers the more they work with them and those who hate computers the more they work with them and i tend to distrust the first kind 😂
